I got this printer back in Nov. '07. As a printer it's terrific. As a wirless device able to connect consistently and reliably, it's a failure. It will function well with a desktop that is connected to the router (which by the way is a new wirelss Linksys N) but is erratic with the Sony laptop (signal shows as excellent on the Sony) the systray monitor pops off and on often saying the printer is connected then saying it's disconnected.
The biggest problem is ...my wife's laptop a new Sony, will connect using Windows Vista's print driver although the quirky g thing is that when it prints, it pumps out a blank page for every one it prints. I cannnot load the actual HP fully functional software for the C7280. It will not find the wireless printer at all. I have defeated antivirus and even the windows firewall. The signal strength shows excellent on both computers. I am stymied. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. By the way I am on a first name basis with most HP call centers from Bangalore to Calcutta... absolute dead end. HELP!

I have the same problem, prints a blank page before every printed page. would love to know if there is a fix. appears to be combo of wireless network and Vista OS as we don't have the problem with laptop running Windows. THANX

I had this same problem with my vista laptop. I thought it was the driver so went to www.hp.com and got the latest driver and installed it but it still did not resolve the issue.
I called HP support. They had me uninstall the HP Driver software from control panel "uninstall or change a program". I only had to un-install the item named "HP Photosmart All-In-One Driver", I did not uninstall all the other HP items.
They then had me re-install the HP software that I downloaded today from HP. She said that I could just use the CD that came with the printer again, but I choose to use the latest driver software dated 2/18/08. This took a while to install but it corrected the problem.
So in summary, the problem is not in the printer, it is a problem with the system driver being corrupted.

I just downloaded The latest C7280 Photosmart full package software. After doing a complete uninstall of the Original Disk software I loaded it and the printer seems to be working better than it ever did. This software even looks newer. I'm not sure that I also need to install the patch that says "when the printer un-installs it self". I am going to wait and see what happens first. Thanks to all for your help.

I just finished with HP and they had me install HP 990c drivers, and it seems to be working just fine! I wouild recommend going to www.HP.com and let a technician walk you through it. It's a common problem!
